Promo codes and offers
Give guests a discount with a code they type on your booking portal or give at reception, or with an offer that applies by itself.

Create a code
Open Promotions under Park Settings and choose New Promotion. Give it a name guests will see, such as Spring special, and a code such as SPRING20. Guests can type the code in any case.
Choose a percent off each night, an amount off the stay, or Stay N nights, pay M: for each full block of N nights, the cheapest are free, so Stay 7, pay 6 gives one night in seven free. The discount comes off the accommodation after any length-of-stay discount and before fees and taxes, so GST is worked out on the discounted price.
Under the form, an example prices a stay on one of your sites at your own rates, with and without the promotion, so you can check it takes off what you meant.
- 1
Open Park Settings, then Promotions.
- 2
Choose New Promotion and enter the name, code and discount.
- 3
Add any limits you want, then choose Create Promotion.
Limit when it can be used
Limits are optional. Stay dates and nights of the week set which nights get the discount: a midweek code on a Thursday to Sunday stay only takes the percent off Thursday night. You can also ask for a fewest or most number of nights, a booking window, or a number of days ahead of arrival for early bird and last-minute offers.
You can also keep a code to cabins, to sites or to the sites you pick. It can be for your booking portal only or for staff at the desk only, and you can cap how many times it’s used in total or allow it once per guest email. A cancelled booking gives its use back.
Share it
Guests type the code under Add Discount Code on the booking page, and see the discount before they pay. Choose Copy Link next to a code on the Promotions page to get a link to your sites with the code already applied, ready for a newsletter or a post. The link works on your own domain too. You can also add ?promo= and the code to any portal link yourself, for example yourpark.spacecamps.com.au/?promo=SPRING20.
At reception, type the code in Promo code on New Booking. One code applies to a booking, and codes do not apply to group bookings, which have their own discount.
Offers that apply by themselves
Choose Automatically instead of a code and the promotion applies to any stay that fits its limits, with nothing for the guest to type. Until you have a promotion, the Promotions page offers three to start from: a Midweek Special, an Early Bird for stays booked 60 days ahead, and Stay 7, pay 6.
A booking gets one promotion: the one that takes off the most. A code a guest types replaces an offer only when it takes off at least as much; otherwise the offer stays and the guest is told why.
At reception, the offer shows in the price on New Booking. Choose Don’t Apply Offer to book without it.
On your booking portal, site cards and site pages show a badge for an offer: what it saves when the guest has searched for dates, or the offer itself when they haven’t. Offers that need certain stay dates or days ahead only show once the guest has chosen dates.
A discount at the desk
Owners and admins can give one guest a discount on New Booking: a percent or an amount off the accommodation, with a reason. It replaces any promotion on that booking. The guest sees it as Discount, and the reason is kept in the booking’s staff audit trail.
A discount after booking
To make up for a problem during a stay, or to honour a price you promised, owners and admins choose Add Discount in the booking’s actions menu. Enter a percent or an amount off the accommodation and a reason, and the dialog shows what comes off, the GST in it, and the new total before you confirm. GST on the booking is reduced to match, so your tax figures stay right.
The discount comes off what the guest still owes first. Anything they already paid by card beyond the new total goes back to their card, and they get an email about the refund. If they paid at the desk, the dialog tells you how much to give back. Discounts can’t be added to cancelled, group or channel bookings.
Extending a stay with a promotion
Extra nights are charged at today’s rates without the booking’s promotion. If it was a percent off or Stay N, pay M, Extend Stay lets you tick to apply it to the extra nights too, on its own terms. A staff discount can only be applied again by an owner or admin, and an amount off the stay is not given twice.
See what it brought in
Choose Report on the Promotions page to see, for the bookings made in a range of dates, how many bookings and nights each promotion brought, what it took off, what those stays came to after the discount, and how far ahead guests booked. Staff discounts share one row, and cancelled bookings aren’t counted. Export CSV emails you the bookings behind the report.
On Bookings, the Promotion filter shows the bookings that used any promotion, staff discounts, or one promotion. The bookings CSV export has Promotion and Discount columns.
Change, pause or end a code
Changes apply to bookings made from then on. Bookings already made keep the price they were given, and a guest who was paying when you changed or paused the code still gets the price they saw.
Pause a code to stop it for a while. Archive it when it is finished: it stops working, stays on the bookings that used it, and its code can be used for a new promotion.
