Direct booking first

Online bookings without a two-way channel manager

You do not need a two-way channel manager to take a card booking tonight. SPACECAMPS gives each park a booking portal for direct stays. If OTAs still send you guests, inbound webhooks can copy those reservations in. Rates and leftover sites are not pushed back to the OTAs.

Direct online booking is a URL, not a distribution contract

A channel manager’s job is to keep many storefronts in sync. A booking engine’s job is to let a guest pay you for a site they can see. SPACECAMPS is the second job. Share yourpark.spacecamps.com.au on your website, Google Business Profile, and printed collateral.

Guests pick dates against live availability, enter stay details, and pay via Stripe once you have connected payouts. Until Stripe Connect is finished, the portal can still show sites but will not complete a paid booking.

Inbound webhooks if you already have OTAs

In park settings you can add a channel (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, or Other), store the commission you pay that channel, and generate a webhook secret. Your existing channel manager or a small integration POSTs creates and cancels to SPACECAMPS.

Use that when you want one calendar. Do not expect SPACECAMPS to close a site on Booking.com when a direct guest books it. Overbooking risk across OTAs is still yours unless you use a two-way manager alongside us — or you stop selling the same site in two places.

A sensible sequence for a small park

Open direct bookings first. Put the portal URL everywhere. Keep OTAs only for the demand you still need. If double-selling becomes the problem, add a real two-way channel manager or take inventory off the OTA — SPACECAMPS will not silently do that work.
